shimmer in shining green sheen

sway in breeze and dance
thicken trunk and branch
leaves

transit to
a maze of hues
after first hard frost
dismantled by gust
into solvent soil

roots
rake it in
all winter long
bare tree observes
the slow decay
of its dialogue
with the sun
