Tämä huippuluokan viikonlopun virtuaalinen runousymposium on suunnattu kaikille kirjallisesta taiteesta kiinnostuneille teini-ikäisille – mukaan lukien runoilijat, kirjailijat, opettajat, opiskelijat ja monet muut. Tarjolla on luovan kirjoittamisen työpajoja, runonlukemista ja esityksiä, jotka on suunnattu runouden opettamiseen yhteisöllisissä ympäristöissä. Tarjolla on täysi menu lauantaista sunnuntaihin 21.8.-22.8.2021. Ilmoittautuminen vaaditaan, mutta ilmoittautuneet voivat valita, mihin työpajoihin osallistuvat. Konferenssi järjestetään ZOOMissa kokousmuodona. Symposiumi on ilmainen. Lahjoituksia kannustetaan auttamaan meitä kattamaan maksut esiintyjille ja tapahtumatuotantoon.
Runous on mullistava työkalu, joka voi auttaa sekä tekijöitä että lukijoita löytämään toivoa ja sitkeyttä vaikeina aikoina. California Poets in the Schools on 57 vuoden ajan tuonut runouden luomisen ja esittämisen voimakkaan taikuuden yli miljoonalle opiskelijalle.
