I 55 år har California Poets in the Schools bragt den kraftfulde magi ved poesiskabelse og optræden til over en million elever. Vores arbejde er vigtigere end nogensinde! Undersøgelser viser, at studerendes involvering i kunst er forbundet med højere akademiske præstationer, øgede standardiserede testresultater, større involvering i samfundstjeneste og lavere frafaldsprocenter. Kreativitet er den #1 ønskede færdighed på dagens arbejdsmarked. Digteundervisning opbygger empati og en følelse af at høre til i klasseværelset. Poesi og kunst kan være et kraftfuldt, helbredende værktøj for skoler og samfund, der kommer sig efter naturkatastrofer og andre traumer såsom våbenvold.
Denne weekendkonference er åben for offentligheden og rettet mod litterære undervisende kunstnere (for alle målgrupper), klasseundervisere, digtere, MFA-kandidater og mere. Indholdet vil være engagerende for dem, der er helt nye til at undervise i litterær kunst og for de "gamle hatte" blandt os.
På dette symposium vil workshops være rettet mod temaet Kreativitet for forandrin…
