PRESIDENT David Sibbet is founder and chair of The Grove Consultants International, a general purpose organization development firm in San Francisco known for pioneering visual facilitation and process leadership. He wasĀ married to Susan Herron Sibbet, former ED and Board chair of CalPoets.

Suresh Krishnamoorthy

TREASURER Suresh Krishnamoorthy is a tech leader with extensive experience in building complex computer hardware. He's a long-time activist in promoting literacy. Rich non-profit experience. Sports enthusiast. Enjoys the gamut - Escape from Alcatraz swim to pick-up tennis with his nephew. Closet poet.

SECRETARY Amanda Chiado is the Director of Arts Education for the San Benito County Arts Council in Hollister, California. She is a credentialed teacher and chair of the Arts and Culture Commission for the City of Hollister. Amanda has served as a Calpoet for over fifteen years. She loves her family, horror films, and dancing. Zoya Ahmed is a student at the University of California San Diego completing her bachelors in Psychology with a specialization in Social Psychology and aspiring to go into medicine. An integral part of her identity includes being a South Asian American poet. In 2019, she won Poetry Out Loud on the county level and Poetry Ourselves on the state level. Her experiences pushed her to partake in multiple poetry readings across California and become Sonoma County’s first Youth Poet Laureate in 2020.

Angelina LeaƱos

Angelina LeaƱos is a student at California Lutheran University with the hopes to become a published author, as well as an English teacher. In high school, she won the Poetry Out Loud competition both at the school and county level and has since returned as a coach to other participants. LeaƱos has had several poems published and organizes a monthly poetry open mic with the Ventura County Arts Council in partnership with the Oxnard public library.

Jackie Huss Hallerberg

Jackie Huss Hallerberg brings a multi-disciplinary approach to teaching poetry and has been a Poet-Teacher since 2001. Throughout her academicĀ studies in science, business and education and her work in the private and non-profit sectors, she has held a strong belief in poetry as a powerful tool for creativity and communication. Angela Phillips

Angela Phillips, a dedicated Stockton educator, boasts two decades of experience educating students and parents in the Stockton Unified School District and four years on the SUSD School Board. Presently, she leads as the Executive Director of TEAM Charter, a local charter school. A passionate advocate for arts in education, Angela finds joy in reading and writing poetry, and supporting students.

Linda Ravenswood

Linda Ravenswood, BFA MA PhD abd, is an award-winning poet and performance artist from Los Angeles. Author of 5 solo poetry Collections, Linda is the founding editor of The Los Angeles Press, est. 2018, Linda’s interests include travel, reading, walking, writing, & performance.

Don Kingfisher Campbell

Don Kingfisher Campbell is a retired professor and teacher who taught Creative Writing and Writers Seminar in the Occidental College and USC Upward Bound programs. Don is a former Poet-Teacher, LA Area Coordinator and Board Member of CalPoets. Kingfisher is an award-winning and widely published poet. Nancy LynƩe Woo

Nancy LynĆ©e Woois an eco-centric poet, teaching artist, and community organizer based in Long Beach, California. Nancy is the winner of the Brett Elizabeth Jenkins Poetry Prize, author of I’d Rather Be Lightning, and a past PEN America Emerging Voices Fellow. She currently serves as the mentor for the Long Beach Youth Poet Laureate program, and is an Arts Education Leader with the Los Angeles Department of Arts and Culture. MFA Antioch University

James Coats

James Coats is a multidisciplinary artist, author, and educator born in Los Angeles and raised in the Inland Empire. He received his BFA from Cal Poly Pomona and his MBA from Cal State San Bernardino. As a creative change agent he believes the arts can inspire the youth and influence positive change in the world. He also has four poetry collections: his newest poetry collection Midnight & Mad Dreams published by World Stage Press. He is a 2023 Poetry Pushcart Prize nominee.
