Watsonville Poet Laureate, Robert Gomez has been given an hour and a half to present poems, songs, and recitations, as a response to Walt Whitman in all his glory and all his problematic stances about race and manifest destiny. On Friday, November 17th, 2023, he will alternate between rhymed verse, original songs, verse in Spanish, free verse, and possibly even some parody. He'll be joined by Dr. Ann López from the Center for Farmworker Families.
